A recent study conducted by the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) became the talk of the town when it revealed that an AI (Artificial Intelligence) tool outperformed doctors in detecting cancer. It’s a generative AI tool named ‘Unfoled AI’ and has identified prostate cancer with an accuracy of 84%. On the other hand, physicians attained 67% accuracy in identifying the same cancer. It highlights the potential of AI in improving cancer detection and treatment.
The University released shocking findings in a press release that suggested integrating AI into medical practices could revolutionise cancer detection. It will also provide more reliable diagnoses, resulting in better patient outcomes.
Unfold AI is an innovative software developed by Avenda Health in California. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved this tool in December 2022 with 510(k) clearances. This tool utilises a specific AI algorithm to visualise the probability of cancer by analysing a diverse range of clinical data.
