11 Corona Variants Found In Kerala: Health Dept Confirms
The health department asked people around the country to start following the basic norms of covid 19, as recent samples in Kerala found 11 coronavirus variants present in the state.
While the covid scenario seemed to fade away from the country, another update from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala came as a shock to people and the health department as well. The department collected different samples all over the state in December 2021 and around 6,728 samples are confirmed to have omicron variant as well. The new confirmation shared 11 covid-19 variants like XE, XH, HQ, and Omicron BA.5. Some of these 11 variants are considered one of the deadliest strains of coronavirus. Besides these, other dominant variants are Delta, Gamma, Beta and Alpha.
In recent months the covid-19 trend has come to a halt in the country, with less than 1000 cases daily, and a minimal mortality rate. Since Kerala has been a hotspot during every covid wave, this scenario is expected to be more intense. Despite the results collected in the state, the health department has advised people not to panic and make sure they are following all the protocols accordingly. The department says, most people in the country are vaccinated for coronavirus and do not have to worry about the deadly variants found. Also, it is expected to include a face mask, proper social distancing and regular sanitisation to avoid further spread of the virus.
