Modi To Hold ‘Chintan Shivir’ For Health Emergencies At SoU

With Covid-19 still on the loose and curbing the country and its people from the severe impacts of the pandemic, PM Modi has all set to launch ‘Chintan Shivir’ at the Statue Of Unity (SoU) in Gujarat. It is a three days event that will take place from May 5 to 7. PM Narender Modi and health ministers of all the states are expected to attend the event to discuss health emergencies.
On Wednesday, State Health Minister Rushikesh said, “Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, health ministers of states and Union territories, and government officials will participate in this conference,”
The main theme of the event will be ‘preparing India for all future health emergencies,’ one of the ministers said. Other themes will be affordable and accessible healthcare, cooperation and coordination between states, and Heal India & Heal By India.
The event is going to be the 14th conference of the Central Council of Health and Family Welfare (CCHFW). It is an apex advisory body that was established under Article 263 of the Consitution. The work of the body is to support and advise the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
According to sources, the members of Niti Aayog and over 245 health experts will participate in the discussion. Moreover, the 4th wave of Covid-19 is anticipated to start in June-July and may last till September, as per the sources.
