Singapore To Host WOHC To Advance One Health Agenda
The seventh World One Health Congress, the world’s premium event to advance the World’s One Health agenda, is to take place in Singapore. The event will be organised at the iconic Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands, from 7th to 11th November 2022. Halimah Yacob, President of the Republic of Singapore, will be the Guest-of-Honour and host the event’s Opening Ceremony on 7th November.
The One Health event aims to improve health and well-being by preventing and mitigating the crisis from the animal-human-environment interface. This year’s Congress theme is ‘Integrating Science, Policy and Clinical Practice: A One Health Imperative Post-COVID-19’. It will promote multi-sectoral efforts and collaborations that advance a ‘whole of society’ approach and perspective to health hazards and the management of risks.
The Director-General of the World Health Organisation, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and the Director-General of the World Organisation for Animal Health, Dr Monique Eloit, will be part of the event on the first day. More than 120 speakers from different organisations, such as World Bank, Gavi, The Vaccine Alliance and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, will join and share their thoughts and experiences across five different scientific tracks.
Associate Professor Tan Hiang Khoon, Co-Chairman of the WOHC 2022 Steering Committee and Director of SDGHI, stated in the context of the event, ━ “As the world emerges from COVID-19, it is vital for scientific communities, policymakers and clinical professionals to build our collective resilience against future global health challenges”.

The 7th WOHC will host important conversations and promote integrated regional and global efforts essential to prevent, predict, prepare and respond to crises and focus on safeguarding our planet’s healthy and sustainable future.
